Design wall Monday 8-9-10

I like that!  8 then 9 then 10!  What a great day it will be.

Design Wall Monday is boring at my house.  I have been so busy that I have not done much in the way of quilting.  But here are a few things that are new:

While it is not much, it is new.  As I was cleaning up in the Cleaning up my crap challenge from V and CO, I found my 2 1/2 inch squares I had lost for a while.  I was so excited that I spent some time, fifteen minutes to be exact, creating this large square out of some of the random pieces.   I have the idea that eventually, when all the squares are put together they will become a fabulous awe inspiring quilt of immense proportions.  And maybe I can give it to some charity.  Usually what happens is I decide it is too much trouble to continue to work on a large piece and it becomes many small pieces and then a lap quilt.  So I never reach the AWE portion of the awe inspiring piece.  Maybe this time my little group of squares will grow and grow into a nice large quilt.  Then I can give it away.

Meanwhile, I will continue to attempt to clean up my corner of the quilt room and kit some things that look like they go together.  I have a box that has a lot of neutrals, and somehow has attracted some pink in there for some unknown reason.  Hmmmm.  Maybe I need a Pink Box for fabrics.

  1. You have really been busy, my friend, and it is beginning to show. Yes, you deserve a marvelous surprise for diligence under a severe headache. I, for a committee of one, think you are going above and beyond the call of duty. Have you thought about taking a bottle of nice chilled wine in there with you? It could make the whole experience a little better.

  2. A small quilt can be AWE as well! Just imagine a little kid checking out every little square of fabric and what's on it :)

  3. I vote for the chilled wine! I also agree with Barb...small quilts are awesome to kids. Ask my granddaughter who spent the day going through my UFO tops.

  4. Nice, and I agree I think your quilt is going to be fantastic. I had to laugh at your earlier post of cleaning up your crap, yes tons of the going on here. It just starts to look worse before it gets better for me.
