Wouldn't a Baptist Fan quilting pattern be the utmost irony????
My design wall is empty because I just finished this top yesterday. It is a compilation of Junk from my orphan box. The interesting thing about these poor disjointed blocks is that they brought back so many memories of all the quilts I had attempted or completed (or still have in my UFO pile!)

Ironic, maybe, but I think baptist fans would work ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love your "junk."
I have some orphan blocks just waiting for the chance to get into a quilt.
ReplyDeleteSomeday soon!
Just love the top!!
ReplyDeleteI think this top is delightful, and love your sense of humor with the Baptist Fan thought!
ReplyDeleteGlen, this top is terrific! I especially like the way you've done the border.....it keeps the feel of the whole project. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI think you should do it and then you can chuckle whenever you look at it. It's a great top and that Baptist Fans would look fabulous on it.
ReplyDeleteI quilted my Drunkard's Path with Baptist Fans--Irony at it's best.
Cool, I never make a "junk" quilt. I give the orphan blocks away and tiny quilts are made out of them to go with teddy bears that that sherrif department keep in their trunk in case there is a car accident or whatever involving a small child that needs some comfort.
ReplyDeleteI too have orphan blocks that are looking for a home...not enough to make a complete top yet. Yours is fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh and fun looking quilt.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is great. Those individual blocks represent so much love, time and energy.
ReplyDeleteThis really appeals to me! What a great collection of blocks.
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt. It turned out great. A very neat idea for orphan blocks. What a great place to take a picture too. The light hits it just right.
ReplyDeleteGiggle! I think it's such a colorful and very fun quilt.
ReplyDeleteGlen - this is SO you!!!! I love it. It looks better everytime I see it. The border just finishes it perfectly and it absolutelt HAS TO BE baptist's fans for quilting.
ReplyDeleteHugs - Marie
Junk or kitchen sink quilt: it is beautiful. And aren't memories the best thing of a quilt? Go for the baptist fan!
ReplyDeleteLots to explore and admire here !
ReplyDeleteI just finished quilting a bright quilt with freehand baptist fans and think it looks great - go for it!
ReplyDeleteLove it, my kind of quilt
ReplyDeleteYou know, that is really a great quilt top. I hope you keep it. I really like it.
ReplyDeleteThat turned out great!! I love the idea of putting all the blocks together!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
