Health fair and a trip to petsmart -- -- THEN some quilting maybe

I am dying to get into the quilt studio and play with some of Pat's fabrics.  I washed all the fabrics, and they all smell much better now.  I had folded them as they came out of the dryer, but I felt the need to iron them as well.  So I spent about 5 hours over the last two days ironing.  Amazing how long it takes to iron stuff.
As I ironed, I could envision things with nearly all the pieces.  Those extra comic book boards came in handy as I folded all the fabrics.  I had to retrieve the boxes they came in from the recycle bins to put them in so I could store them.  My shelves are stuffed with my things and my mom's fabrics.  (and the floor and the closet.)  I really need to get in there and start working on stuff.

There are several things I need to do -- quilt wise.  They are on a long list of things that also need to be done soon.  But that can wait for later.  Now that my mom is settled into the nursing home, it is easier for me to quilt again.

After the Health Fair at the 7th Day Adventist Church we took all the dogs to Petsmart for Basset toe trimming.  Project Purr was there with a slew of kitties in cages.  My dogs are used to cats and dont' freak out when they see them.  One lady commented on how well behaved Dutch was.  He is so tall his head is on the same level as the kitties in the cages!

Dutch keeps his toes in nice working order just by the walks.  The difference is that I had his toes lasered when he was about 9 months old.  It kept the quick back so the nail wears off easily.  I have never cut his toes, ever and he is 9 1/2 years old now.  I showed him for several years and all I did was take a regular fingernail file and pretty them up.

The Bassets are a total 'nother story.  Chloe grows literal talons.  And DiNozzo, walking 3 ++ miles a day, actually had toes to trim.  But not nearly like Chloe's.  Hers are bad.

  1. Glen - 5 hours of ironing is 5 hours too much. I am so envious of you getting all that new stash - but I'm glad you got the smoke smell out. That can be so awful.

I have so many new ideas in my head, but I am procrastinating again for some reason.

    Hugs - Marie
