Watermelon Rind Pickles

I wanted preserves but I think I got the recipe for pickles instead.  They are good anyway.

Brine the watermelon rind and soak overnight.
Make the syrup with lemon, cloves, cinnamon, vinegar, sugar and cherries with their red juice.
 cook it all down.
 sterilize the jars.
Can the sweetness!



Then clean the whole kitchen because the stickiness is EVERYWHERE!
