The Best Quilting Book I Have ever Seen

I saw this on somebody's blog the day before I left for the Houston Show.  So I ordered it.  I have been wanting a good, easy modern free motion quilting book.  I think I found it.

I have poured thought it for the last two days.  And I love it!

I actually bought two of them.......the one by Angela Walters is good and she quilts for some of the  people whose blogs I follow.  Her book is good but the one I love the best is by Natalia Bonner called beginners Guide To Free Motion Quilting.  She really down to earth quilting and great tutorials showing how to do them.

The designs work on both the domestic and the long arm set up.  Natalia breaks each design into parts showing how to build on each design to make other designs that are just the next step more detailed.  She also offers six quilt pattern on which to practice your quilting!

I will load up a couple of quilts and try out some of her designs and techniques and see how things go.  I will keep you posted so check back and see how it is going.

On the way to and from Houston we stopped at the various Dairy Queens and ate our fill of their wonderment.  I am eagerly awaiting the opening of the Dairy Queen about 3 miles from my house!  Tuesday a week and counting.

My design wall has the Moroccan Quilt and the Christmas Table Runner that needs binding.  I shall finish those this week.  I know it looks the same, but hey, I was in Houston at the International Quilt show all week!

LOL.

  2. I didn't have a chance do start pouring over the pages of Angela's book yet, but with 1/2 of a block left to quilt on the wedding quilt I can see that my time to do what I want is coming! I am going to see if the library is getting Natalia Bonner's book. I would be interested in reading that one too.
