Good Deed but No Veggies

New Orleans Beignets Recipe
from myrecipes.com
For the first time in over 2 months I felt like I was able to go to the Farmer's Market.  Of course that always involves going to Coffee Call and getting beignets (ben-yays) and New Orleans Coffee and Chicory for breakfast regardless of what diet you are on.

On our way downtown to the market, we got a call from Ann saying her mom's kitchen was flooding could we head there and see what was going on.  Miss Elizabeth was frantic and fearful of slipping in the water on the tile floor.  She is 93 years old and still living alone.

Turns out that someone was replacing the garbage disposal and had just left the new one unhooked and the pipes open.  The sign warning not to use the sink had been moved and she had forgotten it was being done.

This is what we looked like!
By the time Ann got there, Frank had diagnosed and plugged the hole to keep sewer gasses from getting in, and I  was cleaning up the water.   It was really not a continuous stream of water but fortunately only the water she had turned on from the sink going down the disconnected drain.  A plumber was called to get it fixed this morning.

So instead of veggies, we  have good deed stars in our caps.  And that was so much better in the long run.
