Weird Bad News At the Vet

I took Chloe the Smelly Basset to the vet this morning, she has a bloody discharge.

She has a severe infection in the part of the uterus they leave in after a spay.  It is called a stump.  She was spayed by them 13 years ago!

And her cancer is changing from a gelatinous state to a more solid state.  Not a good thing.  There is nothing we can do about it at this point.  He already removed the tumor sac but in the location it is, the meat of the hindquarters, there is nothing to remove.  Even if he removed the leg, which I wouldn't do to her, it would make no difference.

If the cancer grows inward to interfere with her colon, we can remove that part of it.  But it is only buying time.

When she came back to me from the testing area she says, Want to lose a finger?
TOUCH MY REAR!

I will do for her what I need to.  She is no where near ready to go!  That is totally obviously.

So we shall just wait.  Until then, we will take walks and get treats!

I cleared up a box in the sewing room and found some cheesecloth pieces I had put in some dye baths several years ago.  I can see several of them in a Flood Art Series in the near future!

And look!  I found a Nude!  Oddly enough, I found only one of them.  You would think both would be together, wouldn't you?

Carrie and I did some shopping today on her last day of "not yet a mom".  She is so ready for this guy to come!  And the first thing she wants is ice cream and lots of chocolate syrup!

I bought a fish pillow, some tray for the sofa tables.  And this amazing box for my teas!

  1. Sounds like some very distracting shopping went on and some fun unpacking that all add up to a great day.
