I try to not buy quilting books anymore!! So many free things on line - patterns, videos ect I find I buy a quilt book and barely use it for years before I happen to pick it back up and then see something to make out of it. I have lost track of how many quilt books I have bought and then put aside and never used it!
KarenKaren - Quilts...etc.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07293429657903986492noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7567148070676790205.post-79757918944657471002012-05-15T11:35:12.646-05:002012-05-15T11:35:12.646-05:00What a great question! I frequently weed out those quilt books that no longer speak to me, in order to have space on the quiltbook shelves for what is really important to me. All of Roberta Horton's books are permanently entrenched, and I guess my favorite of hers is The Fabric Makes the Quilt! I also love the 2 books on collaborative quilting by Freddie Moran and Gwen Marston.Catskill Quilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15327243220995371935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7567148070676790205.post-71756475919459546872012-05-15T11:18:36.001-05:002012-05-15T11:18:36.001-05:00I have no idea what I would buy. I have enought ideas to keep me busy for 10 lifetimes - I don't need anymore books. I don't buy any magazines either.patty a.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01861433552460661701noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7567148070676790205.post-39136465123626106772012-05-15T10:21:24.081-05:002012-05-15T10:21:24.081-05:00If I were buying for someone else, I would think a...If I were buying for someone else, I would think about buying them a magazine subscription instead of a book. One of my favorites is American Patchwork, or the one by Fons and Porter. You get 6 issues and lots of information and patterns for about the same as a book, a big bang for your buck.

If it has to be a book, one of the highest rated and most popular currently is The "Practical Guide to Patchwork: New Basics for the Modern Quiltmaker," looks like a great book to me.

I have a TON of books, so to narrow it down to one would be just about impossible for me and my books. :)Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08267295109172612804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7567148070676790205.post-47986682375128763322012-05-15T08:39:35.101-05:002012-05-15T08:39:35.101-05:00Anything by Gwen Marston.Anything by Gwen Marston.Brendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09029115839076216849noreply@blogger.com
