To answer some questions from the last post, yes, I did get the first shingles shot. That one was about 55% effective. The new Shingrex (2 shots) is like 85-95% effective. Some people take a hit the next day with some flu like symptoms, but most like Frank, do just fine. I couldn’t take the shot while I was active shingles, and I am not sure if I can take it while I am still taking the antiviral. Needs more clarification, as we say.
And you can get the flu shot at any time with the shingle shots. Get them both!

Wait until you are off antivirals for at least 72 hours. That seemed random to me but definitely ask your doctor!
