When I was a senior in high school a friend moved from Houston where I lived at the time back to Louisiana and invited us to visit for the parade her family participated in. She took us out and we saw some cool stuff. I don't remember the parade right this minute, but the other stuff was so cool. I have a friend here that also mentioned glass beads recently. She said that she went to the women's parade on her birthday a few years ago and they were handing out glass beads. She said they were bagged and you had to be called to the float and they handed them to you. All well above my knowledge level, but it made her very happy to share the memory.
