Time for a Swim in the 100 Meter Pool

I kept looking at the pool on the design wall. something was off.

The black and white float lines were too big.  So I took the seams out, cut them down and resewed.

Now they look a lot better.

The two traditionalists I was sewing with this morning kept telling me I needed a stop border between the busy water of the pool and the borders.  But that is traditionalism talking!

I tested the layout and I love it.

Tell me how much you love it as well! LOL  Or are you a traditionalist?

PS.....I have lost just under 20 lbs now, since may 2.

  1. I LOVE it ;-) I think the narrower float lines made a big difference!

  2. I think the fabric you have for the edge of the pool is perfect

  3. You do not need a stop border. This is really wonderful!

  4. I like it with The concrete walls. If you want a stop border, the use a visual effect to show the tiles on the edge of the pool. Don't think I am a true traditional nor a modern quilter. What I like is what I like and I like the piece the way it is except I still think it needs a nude.

  5. Guess I am not a traditionalist because I love it and can identify it as a pool. Lost track of why you are making it while I traveled, but someone will be lucky to get it.

  6. I didn't think the float lines were too fat, but it may be just the way it looks in a photo vs. seeing it in person. Either way I think it looks great. Border - well, I didn't think it needed one, but I like your choice. You know I am not a traditional quilter!

  7. I'm not at all a traditionalist and I like things just the way you have them.

  8. I'm assuming the gray is that border, which I understand since most pools have a concrete border to keep the mud out. But this is your water quilt and it needs to be your vision. I like what you have so far with the thin float lines. You know, I think I'd do a pillowcase turn to see how it look without even a binding...sort of there's no end to this pool.

  9. Not a traditionalist and normally don't add borders just because. I do; however, like the top border, which then would not be a border but part of the pool if you didn't add the other three sides. My advise....just off the deep end and see how that floats.
