I Didn't Get A Shawl Today Either

We had a drizzly rain as we drove from Baddeck to Truro. Roads were good with little traffic.

I love the farms and barns set amongst the red golds of the trees against the bright greens of the pastures.   Unfortunately I don't have any photos of these beautiful barns because my phone was locked away in the suitcase.

You have to close your eyes and imagine it.

We did get to see the the tidal bore come down the Shubenacadie River (Click here) standing on a pier that used to be the old trestle bridge.  You could see the tidal bore come up the river, overtake the river current and flow upstream.  We were there for about 40 minutes and the water had risen over 10 feet!

You have to close your eyes and imagine that too, till we get home!

As we were standing there we heard someone talking about the Hurricane Nate.  A few days before we left we knew that Nate was supposed to hit somewhere along the Gulf Coast.  Where was still up in the wind.  We now know it went into the Biloxi MS area and Our house was safe.  But the rain we are having today is Nate tracking up down!

The last time we were here in Halifax, we had a similar situation.  We left for the New York Harbor the day after hit Baton Rouge and sailed to Halifax directly into the same hurricane.

It seems to be what we are good at.
