The Invite AND the Treasure Trove

Carrie is having a Halloween Murder Mystery Party.  You know, where you become a character and someone is murdered.  And they try to figure out "why" and "who".  I think "who" as well, but I have never done one before so I could be wrong.  I meant "who" in the aspect of the murdered character.  Logically, thinking about it, I guess the "who" is the perpetrator.  Yes, duh.....

But you would think we would be invited to this wonderful, exciting, mysterious and fun night.

But nooooooo. I got invited to baby sit.  The kiddo is coming for his first sleep over. And included was a long list of times, schedules, mixing instructions, what not to do, how not to upset him, how to behave when around him and in what name to set the inheritance account up with.

It should be interesting.  Ill let you know how things went!

I had some wonderful, exciting, mysterious and fun myself today.  My package from the Treasure Trove arrived on Thursday.  OMG......what a fun package!

I was introduced to Becky's Treasure Trove in Ohio by Patty the Quilting Lady.  She always had some fun stuff coming in from the Treasure Trove.  And talked about it in several posts when she had a chance to go and get treasures in person.

I signed up for a package to be sent o me, but about that time, Becky discontinued the process.  And I think she even closed the shop for a while.  Then last month I read where she was starting up the packages again.

Oh Man!

You never know what will come.  This one is a slew of 2 1/2 inch strips and a pack of some really cool adornments.

This pack includes French Fries and a tiny camera.  (That camera needs a nude photographer eating french fries, maybe?)

There was a big red heart (appropriately) in that sugar skull bag.

And the strips are intriguing.  They vary far and wide in type, style, fabric, color, theme......well check it out for yourself........

 Elvis has left Ohio!

There were about 8 of these stacks of strips in all.  Every which genre, but, is there a pattern?

 African fabrics have moved in.

Oh, my, I love this one.  Is there more maybe?

Big leaf print.  Lots of dark, brooding fabrics behind it.  I think I am beginning to understand.......is there a color theme, foreign theme maybe?

Oriental pieces and in the background you see the flour sack dogs.  Well, aside from the dogs, could be foreign lands.....

The lands before time!  Ohhh, dinosaurs inhabit the earth.

And just when you think you have Becky all figured out, you get a fairy!

  1. A friend of mine went to a Murder Mystery last year and had a blast. OTOH you get a sleepover with kiddo. What an event.

  2. What a fun box of goodies! That was quite an array of fabrics. I can see putting those together with one solid fabric - maybe an ash gray or a taupe/gray color - and making striped blocks. Your recent striped quilt was fabulous so something like that would be great with those fabrics. Have fun watching the baby.
