Day 28 Porch Quilt Show and Article

This is a very special Day 28 of the Porch Quilt Show because the article about me came out in today’s paper!! I am over the moon with excitement.

Quilt Show Article

This quilt is called The Forest of Frozen Sorrows. In 2014 my guild was scheduled for a weekend sewing retreat up near St Francisville LA. The Thursday before temps plunged below 0 for hours. Pipes broke in the sleeping wing and inundated the great hall. The retreat was cancelled. This was the quilt I was I had hoped to finish at the retreat. Hence the graphic name!

It is a lot of batik fabrics of similar tones. The slightly lighter ones draw your eye around to take in the whole quilt. On the back of the quilt I repurposed my old bedroom curtains. #quiltswissy #quiltsanddogs #porchquiltshow
