They are talking about 20+ inches of rain in areas that are built to take rain and hurricanes. But you can never build strong enough or high enough.
So many are without power, probably nearing a million across the gulf shore line through Florida.

Our area was hit hard but I was blessed to only have twigs and leaves to worry about. The water got into the garage but just a little. I have a friend with a huge sailboat that is now embedded in a dock. A friend with a dock that had to have boards removed to survive. It is very ugly, but it is working. There are many experienced people helping those in need. I am impressed with attitudes and actions thus far.
