C L

Thanks for everything y'all said yesterday on my post.  It had been a trying day.  I have some things to do this morning and I will go check on Diane and Rodney after that.  I didn't have the dreaded text so far, so I am thinking things are the same with them.

Last night we went to our Investment Counselor's party at the L'Berge Casino.  Seems that is the hot place to have upscale parties.  And yes, I wore a dress.  The same one I wore to Jason's wedding 4 years ago.  I figured it would recycle nicely since it snowed on Jason's wedding day in Colorado.

It was a warmish rainy day here, but the temps dropped as the front came through and there was tremendous fog when we left the Casino.  It sits on the Mississippi River and we thought the fog was just hanging on the River.  But we were still foggy at the house 9 miles inland.

Warm day plus cold night always brings fog.

Today is crisp and cold and clear and bright.

So you are wondering what CL in the title means, huh?

Well, I woke up with a migraine around 4 am.  Frank decided he would help and moved the rather large basket full of dirty clothes to the washing machine.

He wanted to add water, machines these days use a minimal amount of water.  But you can increase the water level simply by pushing a button that says "Add Water"  or something close to that.

Somehow, he pushed the button combination that activates the Child Lock.  And we were locked out of the washing machine.  Of course he had no idea what buttons he pushed.

And of course, he couldn't find the booklet for the machine.  He unplugged the machine several times but the display continued to read CL in flashing letters.

So, I guess the basket of dirty clothes will continue to increase until someone figures out who to remove the child lock.

I have been a very bad girl..........

I really have!  And it was so much fun!

Ann and I decided to ditch the sewing at Red Stick yesterday in favor of meeting the owner of the newest shop in town Mia's Fabric Cafe, Anita.  And her daughter.  It was so nice to finally meet the two of them.

Maylee back
Maylee sashing and cornerstones
Mia's is having pretty nice sale on fabric, as you can imagine.  And I indulged like a heathen!  I have 15 yards to ADD to my stash report on Sunday.  But what beauties they are!  And most have some sort of a plan.

This is for the baby quilt I will start soon for Maylee.  Remember Cutesy Pie Maylee?

These crawfish beauties are just the right combination for a spring quilt for South Louisiana.  I think they are supposeed to be lobsters, but no self respecting Louisiana girl will call them that, they are crawfish plain and simple.

Golden dots for the binding of Matt's Saints Quilt.  It neesds to get done soon, I am sure my cuz Karen will be calling soon for our Exchange Dinner.  Hers is finished, but Matt's hangs in there!

These are just because I coud not resist stripes and grey checkerboards.

Then at the Remember Me Christmas Party we had such wonderful food.  Lillian and her committee did a fabulous job with the food and the decorations.  When I walked into the room I saw a table covered with beautifully wrapped prizes.  One stood out to me, it was huge and bright green with red Santas bounding all over it!  It called to me.  I answered.  I wanted that big prize!

It was like a Christmas miracle come to life.  After 30 years of cruising and playing bingo cards on those cruise ships, I finally won a BINGO!  Lillian called the final number that put me into BINGO range and I exploded!  Pat already had the huge green present in her arms to deliver to my overflowing excitement!

This is what it was!  Snapware!  Glorious Snapware!  Oh, I see organizational greatness in 2013.

Most everyone got letters from Santa telling them they were on the Naughty list and should not be watching for Santa this year!

It was a great Remember Me Party!

Party - Party- Party -- Party!

So we had a good time.  He was surprised.  He said he thought something was up, I was dressed up ( a definite rarity) and some conversations he overheard were weird, but he had no idea it would be anything like this!

We had Greg, Dee was up in Oregon picking up her new puppy!  Michael and Renee, Bobby and Fayne - Andrew's parents.  Fayne is an incredible cook, and she kept saying how good my Crawfish Etouffee was!  Cha-ching!

Amber and Dan - Could not have done this without them.  They did so much for me in the last two days.  She made corn muffins, listened to my complaining, cut up my veggies, picked up the cake, stored all my food.  I am eternally grateful.

Paula and Glen but they got lost and headed home, then I convinced them to come back.........

Ann and Press who were between LSU Ball Games!  Way across town, they came back and forth cross town several times just to be here.

And we did have Holly, the photographer girl, and the cake was incredible with the picture from the Canadian Rockies on it, it tasted wonderful.

What did I eat.......I will pay for this I know........dip and veggie chips and some crackers, two *small*  pieces of that incredible cake with the picture on it and chocolate filling, mirliton casserole AND crawfish etouffe, a half glass of REAL Dr. Pepper and somewhere is my Cheetos I never found.

Pictures?  I did not snap a one with my own camera.  I will have to show them to you later from Holly.  I am paying enough for her work.........just saying........
