Missing Leaf Mystery Solved

Do you remember back on September 10 when I suspected the fabric eating dog had eaten my leafy block? The block is 20 1/2“ x 8 1/2“ and there was no sign of it anywhere.

I searched and searched and searched all over my quilt room,  the house the places he usually leaves his stash. I found nothing.

Sometime in the night he tossed all of his cookies and the leafy block. So he really did eat it.    I am shocked it stayed in there this long.

I kept watching what he ate making sure that food was able to go in and I watched what came out, making sure food was able to come out. And he seemed fine. But I was always suspicious.

  He is one lucky dog.

Eco-Bundle (continued)

So you think I joke about McGee and how bad he is?  Here he has dug up the mummy bundle already and it has not been in the flower pot for 5 hours.

I just happened to walk out and saw it laying there.

That is my eco-bundle, not doggy poop!

I really didn't think he saw me bury it.  But I guess that and his excellent nose beat me out.

Aughhh!  He also tore up the renewal post card for my Machine Quilting Magazine.  He is just lucky I could renew online.........

Air Bag Recall, McGee and a New Quilt -- Geez!

Well it looks like my CRV is involved in that airbag recall.  I talked to my Honda guy yesterday and he is ordering me a new air bag for both the  passenger and the driver side.  I will try not to get into an accident before then.

So Frank was in Hattiesburg yesterday.  And while I was on the phone talking to him, telling him what good dogs we have and how they were behaving nicely, McGee was doing this.

I know, I know.  I should have worked on Seuss 2.  I know...... but I didn't.  Instead I did strip sets from my scraps for Feather Bed.

Sophie made me do it because she won't send me the one she made.

I thought I had ugly scraps, but they actually look pretty good here.  Maybe this will be a great quilt......even though Sophie won't send me hers and I have to make my own.

I also realized that I need to make more of the left side pieces.  It is OK.  That what you see there didn't even begin to touch the scraps just on my cutting desk!  I have lots more!  For a king size you need like 17,576 more!

McGee Is Home!!!

Just  got back from picking the stupid dog up.  He generally is the hit of the front desk, now he has a following in the night crew as well.  They all seem to love this stupid dog.  He seemed to be no  worse for the wear.

The vets today did a barium enema and said there were no obstructions since they could see the barium moved well in the intestines.  So they are thinking he was clear.

I knew differently.  When he was throwing up the scarf I pulled it to the point  of resistance.  I cut it and he as able to swallow the rest back down.  That is the point when he went in to the ER Vet.  They tried to wait him out, x-rayed him seveal times.  Once he ate, I knew it was out of his  stomach.

They did the barium thinking there was no obstruction.  But I knew it was still in there if they hadn't seen it.

Sure enough.  The minute he hit his own backyard, he squatted and pooped out a foot of scarf.  I will spare you the photos.

And  lot of barium......just sayin'

McGee Ate The Chevrons But I Saved The Bird

Yep, he did.  the chevrons from the kit I purchased in Covington at Bright Hopes Quilt Shop a couple weeks ago.  The kit came with something other than what the cover showed, and I wanted the cover quilt!  I went to Red Stick and they matched the exact colors, and I was happy.  Don't you really like that color? It was perfect next to the grey!

But obviously McGee did not want the new color choices.

And he ate two nice holes in the salmon color.  I am hoping that I can cut around it, and not need more. Geez.

A LARGE whole and a smaller hole.  Such a bad bad dog.  At least he didn't ingest any this time.

And earlier there had been a juvenile cardinal boy who must have tried to fly through the big window again.  He was a bit stunned.  In comes McGee!  All willing and ready to help a wayward bird!

I noticed the dogs around the ligustrum bush but it was the high pitched scream that alerted me to something out of the ordinary.  The bird was actually screaming!

I got the dogs inside and grabbed some gloves and captured him, taking him to the neighbor's bushes since they have no animals.  When I got back from the gym and lunch he was gone, hopefully to his nest for a day of rest before he ventures out again.  Although I think his momma has already kicked him out.  He is a big bugger!

And I think I will actually have the rest of the afternoon to sew.

That is until Frank calls me to see what is on the feeder now!  Oh my!  A treasure!  A red bellied male!  What a find.  He was loving the dark sunflower seeds.  Eat, my feathered friend.  Eat and Enjoy!
