One Monthly Goal - December 2017

                   1.  Quilt at least one top (Sawyers Quilt?)
                    2.  Get at least one binding done (triangles or Improv Stripes)
                    3.  Doorways piece for Fiber Group (due Dec 14)
4,  Finish One Road Thru Town
                    5.  Quilt Pink Quilt for Kaitlyn
                    6.  Quilt the Blue Squares for Malachi

It is time for setting December Goals for the One Monthly Goal.....although mine might be the MMG.....More Monthly Goals! Click on the link above and you will be taken to a land of wonder and fun!

I have set 6 goals, but I will shoot to finish any 4.  They are all things I really want (or need) to work on.

1.  I have had Sawyer's Quilt finished for a while now.  It got moved to the Long Arm Room and it did not get quilted. So I moved it to hang over the frame bars.  And it still did not get quilted.  Now i moved it to this list!

2.  I have both the Triangles and the Improv Stripes quilted (last month's OMG) and they are ready for binding.  I am hoping to get both done actually.

3.  I have to get that Doorways piece done...........just do it.  Carol of Quilted fabric art gave me an idea that was pretty cool, so at least now I have an idea.

Pink Front
4.  I need to put the backing on One Road and it will be done.  I just need to figure out how I want to hang it for the show.

Pink backing
5 and 6.  I decided to send two quilts to my nephew's kids in Washington State.  Pink is finished and Blue is finished so they can be quilted with a quick pattern and given a binding.  And sent off to Washington.

I guess I need to tackle 5 and 6 first!

And I bought a really good iron to replace the one I bought to replace the one that leaks all over the darned place.  a Rowenta.  I like this one a lot better.  It still turns off, but the setting dial stays on hot.  And it takes like 8 minutes before it turns off.

I am happier!

Working Friday

Thanks to all who shared my grief at the demise of my beloved iron.  It was such a good iron.  I am hoping the one I ordered will be as good.  We shall see.  I have heard several bad reports about the Oliso Irons.  The quilt shop has stopped carrying them and sent the rest of their product back to the distributor.  They had major problems with them.  So sad, it was such a good idea!

Today was a frustrating day, between saving McGee's life repeatedly and trying to do some work with the longarm, I gave up on both and finally told McGee if he has such a death wish, he might as well get it over with.  He broke into my sewing room and distributed the contents of my trash can throughout the living room.  For which I put him outside.  He undid the tie out and got into the bird seed.  For which I put him inside.  He then broke into Frank's office and at the corners off the Land's End box that was delivered this morning.  For which I put him outside.  This went on three more times.

I am currently not speaking to him and considered not feeding him due to all the bird seed and fabric he probably ate.

The long arm is a pain in the patooty today again.  I gave up when I finally got the tension set correctly, I think, because of the number of times I had to leave to save McGee's life.

Then I decided to work on the Saints quilt, and now have all but two squares quilted.  I can get those done tonight after dinner with friends.  I think I will have some stiff beers!

And a few minutes ago, I was greeted with this marvelous scene.  Have you ever seen a more beautiful end to a day? Is that color magenta?  Whatever it is, it is beautiful!
