UR Priceless - Finally!

Finally, my day is here to share with you my version of the coin purse from the UR Priceless Blog Hop.  Thanks Madam Samm and Kathleen, for hosting this really fun hop.  I just adore the coin purses I have seen so far.

And, inspite of its flaws, I do love mine even more!

Mine had a nice little learning curve but it was really pretty easy to do.  Once the lightening bolt hit me, I was on a roll!

I tested several types of threads for fastening the fabric to the frame before I hit on something that would work.  I am sure there is something better than what I ultimately used, which was hand quilting thread.  It needs to be strong enough to withstand the pulling but thin enough to go through the holes in the frame.

You can see my learning curve quite nicely!  I used stitches that were a tad too large on this side.  But I do learn quickly so by the time I got to the other side, I was rolling!

You can see it was much smoother and nicer.

I had chosen a silver frame, thinking it would be of interest to my dear daughter Carrie, who only likes silver stuff.  But I received a lukewarm reception when I excitedly showed it to her the other day.

Hmmmm..........it can just live with me for the rest of its days then!

  29. Cute little purse. I sometimes experience the same things with my daughters, so I chalk it up to "generation gap," and now I don't do anything for them without consulting them first. This way, I'm not disappointed. If I'm excited about something, I confide in my sisters or a friend who shares my interests. From California, thanks for sharing.
