I have been waiting for this Friday to come around, not that I wanted the week to go faster because they seem to go fast enough already. I was going to get up early and get this post out, but DiNozzo ate a piece of meat with a toothpick through it as
I was making jerky. I threw him into the SUV, grabbed my cell phone, (mind you I was in pajamas still at 6 AM) and headed to the vet. At the end of my driveway, he threw up the meat and his breakfast in my back seat, all over my rain coat. So I didn't have to embarrass myself at the vet's because I am a bad dog mom. The pajamas should have been evidence of my care and concern, right?
I will post the story of Frank in a separate post, it is like a tale of unbelievable proportions. Poor guy.
I displayed my Nudes Bathing for the first time in public at the Fiber Group meeting on Wed. They were well received and I got a lot of questions about making the leaves. Everyone loved their cute little butt cheeks! LOL. I got some suggestions about doing some shading on the butt cheeks, someone suggested make up (of which I have none) or a colored pencil (which I have somewhere around here......hmmm).
In my desire to create more nudes, I have put together a box, appropriately labeled NUDES. The paint pen I used has a large flat part to write with, and I was upset that the paint was runny. But look at it! I love the way it turned out! I don't' think I can do that again if I tried!
Anyway, I have started on several other nude ideas. Anne of Quilting in the Desert and I are going to make purses with Nudies on them! LOL. I think I shall start on that project.
Here is the new light box, a welcome change from what I have been doing on the window, the storm door, the light box Frank made. Have you ever tried to trace something from an iPad? Fun. The picture moves constantly. I was able to trace a nice nude, although need to work on a pen that has better results.
I can make several nudes and then create the backgrounds as I have inclinations. I keep thinking of situations that they could be in. Like if I had one sitting down, she could be sewing. Or jumping and playing basketball. Or at the beach. The ideas keep coming!
I will warn you, though, if you google "nudes playing basketball" you get some pretty wild stuff! LOL.
Love the light box and your ideas! Miss our face to face time. Soon to happen I hope!
ReplyDeletePoor DiNozzo! Can't wait to see what you do with the nudes!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the nudes doing different things- I think you could get some really cool flow and movement with bodies in motion (I like the idea of playing basketball, although I'll take your word for it on the googling). Sorry about your poor dog! Did the toothpick come back up with the breakfast?
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking of doing a series of nudes as well, especially since I'm in discussion with a plastic surgeon's office to hang my work there. Can't wait to see what else you come up with! Hope to see you over at Design Wall Weekend blog party at http://fiberartistjourney.blogspot.com/
