52 Photos - Gallery 9 - Sitting by the Window

Oops, I interpreted this to be Outside My Window rather than Sitting By The Window.  But these are all sitting by my windows, so it still is true!

I have some beautiful windows in the rear of my house.  One set in the Breakfast Nook off the kitchen, looks out to my bird feeder.  I do love that bird feeder.  Because we are one of the migration routes up from Mexico, we see so many different kinds of birds in the spring .  Even into the summer we see the sapsucker that looks so much like a woodpecker.  He can stick his beak in so far that he gets seeds when the smaller birds have to peck at the seeds on the ground.

The vast window in the den, where I sit most of the time, looks out over my patio and into the back  yard.  The Bad Basset Boyz are in and out all day long but Chloe the Smelly Basset likes to lay in the hot sun all day.  She is up here by the back door because Frank got the hose out and she is not going to risk a bath.

Here is my hubby, Frank, watering the plants.  Like watering really should be necessary with all the rain we have had.  He is out there appearing to take care of my plants because he pulled up my huge rosemary plant the other day, most likely killing it.  It may make it, but I am really concerned about it.

Those are the things Outside My Window!

It is not too late for you to join the fun and post a photo in response to the weekly prompt at

  1. Better birds than deer! We had a 15 minute downpour at 1:30 a.m. this morning. Lots of lighting and thunder so I won't have to water my zinnias - yeah, Mother Nature took care of it for me!
