I guess by now you figured out we've been flooded. When we left the house and floated the bassets to a higher ground across the street we had 2 1/2 feet of water in the house and it was still rising. I have stories to tell but I'll save that for a later time. Right now arm we are living with some friends who have a dog showing RV. They have graciously took us in, fed us , gave us showers.
We live in a no flood zone. 32 years without so much as water in the street. And boom yesterday 2 1/2 feet in six hours. Both cars are underwater. And there's no rental cars to be found anywhere. Well I guess I was going to buy a new car anyway.
Does anyone have an extr car we could use for a few days??
I have a great story about how we floated the bassets out. Bassets are heavy bone dogs and they don't swim like other dogs they sink to the bottom
More later. I know so many other people are in this same situation. Heaven help us and them. Thank whatever gods there be for friends. We would be sitting on the corner with three bassets and nothing else. Bret found us in his boat, Ashley gave us a meal and and a hot shower and drove us across town to Greg and Dee who took uS into the RV and gave us peace.
I had panic attacks and have flashm
I'm so sorry you're going through this. That much water that fast had to have been terrifying. Hope it recedes and you can get back in your house soon. Glad you've got good people to help you. Stay safe and take care.
