Of course, Carrie was looking through my phone and saw the photos of my telephones. She was not so much disliking that I used her pieces as she hated the way I hung them. Not much was right about my artistic aesthetics, I guess.
The Modern Quilt Guild met on Monday and I actually got to a meeting! There were a few new-to-me faces. And a few new-to-me activities. But it felt good to be back in the old rut!
I showed the quilt the Secret Society of Barn Builders made for me after the flood. They loved it! They passed the Barn Book around and looked at everyone else's barns in the calendar Julie made for us .
There were some really nice quilts at show and tell!
Joni brought this flower pincushion back from Paducah.
Pat made a basket out of clothesline. I used to have several of some smaller versions of this in my studio.....before the flood!
She finished this quilt from an improv center she made a few years ago.
Make this one larger, it is very interesting. She appliqued random block pieces on top of the quilt grid.
She wanted to know if these were "modern" enough!
Love the colors here.
She made this in one weekend on a retreat
OOPS! Now how did that get in there? Look we are both wearing stripes! If that don't mean something!
What fun to share your SSOBB quilts with the guild. And I love that the baby/Grandma photo made its way into the quilty post!
ReplyDeleteYou're both going to be "doing time" together! Lol
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it to guild! One more bit of normalcy! How did Carrie think the pictures should have been hung? I can think of three other arrangements off the top of my head. I like the way you hung them, but what do I know? LOL!!! Cute picture of you and baby!
ReplyDeleteThat sweet boy will not be spoiled...at all. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you posted some pictures of the work we did at our retreat. It was wonderful fun!
