I use Red Snappers on my long arm. They secure the backing and batting to the leaders and then I float the quilt top on the batting.
The Red Snappers are long tubes of red plastic that snap together. It is the easies way I have found to load a quilt.
But the original bag they came in is getting holes in it. And I lost several of the smaller snappers in the flood move.
I needed a long tube to hold the Snappers when they are not on the quilt frame (and the extras). I decided a shipping tube would work, but the snappers are two inches longer than the tubes.
Here are some of the smaller pieces that go with the set.
So I decided on a PVC pipe tube. You can get the fittings that screw into the top and bottom of the piping and close it off. So at Home Depot the other day, I priced what I needed and found it would cost about $27.
Hmmmm…….
So Frank took me to the Academy Sports store to look at fly rod cases. The one for $15 was on back order so I came home and ordered it on Amazon.
It came in yesterday.
Perfection for $12.57 and free shipping!
Can't beat that with a set of Red Snappers!
GOOD solution !!!!
ReplyDeleteSo smart! And that seems cheap for a fly rod case.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! So is Frank settling into retirement?
ReplyDeleteI use red snappers, too. Aren't they a great idea? Yours is almost better so I'll be running over to Amazon in a minute. Thanks!
