Even though there was a threatened strike, we flew in with little trouble. They offered a settlement. Not sure how the return will be though. Big talk here is Brexit. Not Trump as we are led to believe! Although it is good to get a rest from him for a while.
Diana and I have laughed nonstop at the problems we have had so far. First night despite having new batteries we could not get the tv clicker to work. I dumped my suitcase and all of its contents on the floor when I got up to go the the bathroom last night. We can’t work any toilet because they are all different and weird. Turning on lights in the rooms has been hysterical. Once we got them on tonight, we could get all but Diana’s off. You should have seen us trying to get the towel warmer to work tonight. Both of Us lying on the floor outside the bathroom trying to read tiny print with my bad eye to figure what was on and what was warm. The. Jumping up and running into the bathroom grabbing hold of the metal bars to see if they were getting warm or not. I was determined to have hot towels. And we had them. Speaking of my bad eye I led a group of 5 women’s to use the men’s bathroom one time because I couldn’t see that the man figure didn’t have a dress on it. That was a riot. Well the men didn’t think so!
Photos. That beige quilt is a trapunto piece from the early 1500’s. Unbelievably it is over king sized. Buckingham palace we saw the changing of the horse guard. The American Museum in Bath has a display of Kaffe Fasset quilts and the 1700-1800’s Amish Quilts from which he derived his patterns. There were the most beautiful formal gardens outside the Museum. The. This morning we saw the Hampton Palace where Henry VIII reigned. And the beautiful gardens there. The beige quilt is a trapunto king sized bed quilt made in the early 1500’s. We are today for lunch at Burger King and had Krispy Kreme Donuts for dessert!
