What makes it officially Halloween at our house is when Carrie comes over and sets up the Halloween display on the porch. If we don't have any other decorations we always have that display.
She and her dad get a bale of hay, and they take the scarecrows from the attic and buy some gynormaous pumpkins and some colorful mums that are not open yet, and set up the display.
This is Carrie modeling in her Halloween scene. Frank was inside destroying a picture of parrots that hangs in the hallway. Shattered the glass all over the floor.
This year we tried to get McGee in the picture. But he was not cooperating.
He left once.
He left twice.
Considered leaving a third time.
I tried convincing him to be still and be one with the scene.
Eventually I got in the scene with him.
He did finally consent to stay while he watched fascinated while the kids playing next door.
Hey there...Nice halloween scene. I love this time of year....the cooler weather and colors are awesome. Thanks for visiting my blog. My sis Gina led me to you. I enjoyed reading your blog and looking at your pics and I have every intention of visiting often. I didn't realize that Mandeville had a quilt shop, but not surprised they do. I will let you know the next time I'm in Hammond and maybe we can have our own shop hop. If you are ever in the Atlanta area please let me know...we have awesome quilt shops. Actually my home store is the biggest in Georgia and I love going there for pleasure and therapy. http://ascarletthread.com/ Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to do a display like this. It is a great way to celebrate the harvest season, too.
ReplyDeletewhy do some dogs love the limelight and others don't want anything to do with it - actually people are the same way. McGee is so handsome and regal looking with those ears.
ReplyDelete(I love your front door by the way)
