I get so sidetracked with stuff, I had this post ready for yesterday and just needed to take some photos.
Well, I can tell you that cleaning the carpet really stirred up the smells. So we decided to change the carpet. It is only about 5 years old, and I like having nice warm tootsies when I get out of bed in the winter, but that is what socks are for! (I should have won Loft Creation's Colorful Sock Giveaway, darn!)
I went and talked to my friend David Iles at The Floor Store yesterday morning and have three samples of tile. Wait till you see this stuff! It looks like wood floors! My friend Mari has it in her house and I have been drooling over it for my den for the last two years.
I know someone who had beautiful wood floors and the dogs tore it up an it look like crap now. Wood is too soft for heavy dogs. Or even light dogs with nails. So this is perfect. The best of both worlds. And it will stay beautiful.
Carrie is going to hate it. I can tell you right now, she will hate it. She is the Interior Designer Daughter that I spent a million dollars sending her through the best ID school in the country where she finished third in her class. So I have to admit, she knows her stuff. But she will hate this!
We are waiting for David to come

But I bought this fabulous cow head for $40 bucks about 10 years ago and it solidified my Southwest longing!
Tough cow hockey! I love my Southwest! The mini quilt in the photo is from my swap partner a few years ago. We worked with creating fabric art from a painting. We choose the painting and copied it in fabric. She was apologetic about doing a Southwest landscape, but I assured her it was too perfect for my Southwest room!
So instead of sewing yesterday, I spent all day cleaning up to entertain David for 1/2 hour in the morning whilst he measures. But I won't have to clean for another two months! LOL.
I get to sew today though. That is a good thing. If David ever gets her I can pull my tables out into the front room!
I see the wood tile on TV home improvement shows all the time. I think it is pretty cool stuff! Tough if the kid doesn't like it - you are not putting in her home!
