but you knew that already.
I love the plumber. But he has been more emotional ups and downs than if I had been in a three year affair with him!
He says the pipe that drains the tub area is 1 1/2 inch pipe. Today's codes specify it to be 2 inch pipe. And mine seems to have an "S" when code says it should have a "P".
We were going to leave the drain in the side rather than move it to the center. It makes no difference and costs $2500 to move because they have to jack hammer the slab and re-cement. Or concrete, whatever.
But now with the 1 1/2 inch pipe problem they may have to do it anyway. In any case, he recommended building the front wall stepping into the shower a couple inches higher to hold any water that was waiting to go down the drain.
We had already discussed the fact that we were going to ignore all other pipes because we were NOT going to re-plumb the whole house. He agreed, he didn't have the time to do it.
I said, whatever, and spray painted my tables......I had forgotten I had three of those suckers so I am going to have to get the shower tile guys to cut the piece for that last table.
Shane comes bouncing out the door, you are going to love this, he says. I am pretty sure I am not.
It is actually good news, though. He dug down into the trap and found a two inch copper pipe! So now my shower will drain properly!
Ups and downs......
One step forward...
