Gallery hanging system for Christmas

We wish you celebrations and family and good food!

We exchanged gifts this afternoon with Carrie and Andrew and Sawyer.  I got a beautiful wooden spoon rest, some earrings and a nice looking Southern cook book.  Frank got a shirt that says
Papa
The Man
The Myth
The Legend

He wore it for the rest of the day.  He feels it!

Sawyer got a two wheel bike that will teach him balance and the basics of riding big bikes.

Frank gave me a Galery Hanging asystem for the blank wall in the living room. He keeps wanting to buy more furniture to fill the space, but I think it will be the perfect gallery space!  He was really on the money with this present.  I challenged him to fins something that was exactly me....and he did.

I have to admit, I was surprised.

And to celebrate, I am making the first quilt that will hang there..... Nancy Purvis’ Concordia.

Concordia is from her book Quilting From Every Angle.

It is the reason I flipped for the book.

And it has one of my favorite techniques, paperpieceing.  First off I copied and put the required number of units together and cut the fabric pieces.  This should go quickly.  Which is good, because I need to have a nature piece done for a Swamp Exhibit by January 14, 2019.

I am thinking of doing a hornets nest for that one.  More later as I think it out.

And I still have the Neighborhood on the design wall.  At least I have the pieces all in place and made for that one.

Do you think I might need to start long arming some quilts.....huh?  Maybe???

  2. I thought I commented on this last night. I am thrilled with the gallery system for you. That t-shirt deserved to be worn by your hubby. Sawyer will be two wheeling in no time - but he is young for two wheeling. Great times.
