Gyotaku

My life is always interesting. Today we went to the LSU Museum of art and did some fish printing. Michelle, Yvonne, Suzi, Frank and I spent some time getting our fingers red with printing ink on the fifth floor at the Shaw Center. The day was absolutely beautiful and I did take some pictures of buildings around the city as well. Baton Rouge really is a beautiful city.

I love the juxtaposition of the fish against the Mississippi River in the window

  1. Glad you did the fish printing. What paper did you use. The dye is so fun and it allows for detail.

  2. Very cool! The fish would be so beautiful in a art quilt. I want to do a rubbing of a fish that is on a storm sewer grate at the hospital where our job is, but first I need to get one of those oil sticks.

  3. I noticed the red dye still in your nails and almost mentioned that I had some food coloring in mine from making Ryder's cake, but there were so many things happening. I love this fish idea that you and Frank are into. You seem to have fallen hook, line and sinker (yeah, a bad pun). It's just a matter of time till there's another fish quilt in the works.
