Colorodo Boys and Their Quilts

I was so excited to open my emails today and see the smiling faces of the boys with their quilts!

I always have told Jason's mom how grateful I have always been to be included in their lives.  Not all ex-wives would do that.  Jason's dad and I were always close growing up, and it was special gift to be in Jason's life even after they split up.

I told Jason that I wanted he and Carrie to have so much love; but I wished them a LOT of luck and
patience with FIVE boys!  LOL

Octopus Completed and Bound

Last night I watched Doc Martin and Elementary and did the binding on the Octopus quilt.

Here are the front and back -- with feet!  Those are the dockers I tried convincing him to get three times and he kept saying, I am fine.  Then for his birthday I just bought them for him.  He loves them.  They are his go-to, go-outdoors-in-the-middle-of-the-night, jeans-wearing shoes.

Sometimes you DO know better.

Something's Fishy!

On the retreat last weekend I put this fishy panel quilt together.

This afternoon I quilted it.

Too cute!  I didn't realize right off that the purple border fabric was a little bit of ombre!

I did a quick little swirl as the quilting.  During the week I will put the binding on.  I think I have enough of that fishy inner border to combine with the purple ombre to use rather than pulling more colors into the entire quilt.
