So You Didn't Get The Humor Today, Huh?

I thought I would have gotten all kinds of comments about my Jessica Rabbit yesterday.  Remember?  She is the ex-wife of Roger Rabbit.

No?  Not a funny day?  I had a whole rant about all the parents lately who seem to be not watching their children.  Such tragic things involving kids and animals.  It only takes a split second, and cell phones and texting seeem to take up so much of our attneion.  I am not saying this was the cause in either of the cases, but just an observation.  It seems more prevalent now, both children getting in trouble and cell phone blindness.

So.

Here is my project.  Multiple titles come to mind.  Wordless, speechless, conversation, talkative.

Stash Report and Vintage Linen Report

Tablecloths first.  A lot of the stains came out but some I suspect are rust stains did not.  I suspect they were laundered at some point and heat set.  By a lot, I am thinking maybe 50%.  they are now hanging on my makeshift line on the carport.  And it is raining!  But I figure while it may not dry  quickly, the rainwater shouldn't hurt them.  And if the sun should come out, it may bleach out more of the stains.

While I have used a lot of yardage on the backings of quilts, I also made some purchases this week.  I ordered fabric for my niece's Graduation Quilt.  She will be graduating from Loyola University in the Spring with a degree in International Journalism.  So, with the help of several of you, I found WORDS!

And I found some foxes on sale for the backing of the eventual fox quilt.


So check out the numbers this week.  I wonder if I can hit 100 in the red this year?

Food Sayings Quilt

I had beautiful parsley, but this week it was eaten by this handsome guy.  Of course he is a has been now.  And I do have one tiny eggplant growing.  It's beauty is incredible in it's blackness.

I have long wanted to make a quilt with veggies on it.  As soon as I get Dan's quilt off the frame and the Paint Chip challenge done with this Thursday, I get to start something new!!  Not the kind with the fat quarter fabric that you cut into squares and just make a regular quilt.  I want to paper piece veggies and add words on the quilt.

Hence, food sayings.

I ahve collected quite a few.  See how many you can think of and maybe we can ALL make some food quilts.  If not that, maybe a food table runner?  Certainly at least a food UFO.

And I want to include some words, since after this Paint Chip Challenge I will certainly be the Queen of Words on Quilts.
