Smoothies, Ellies and a Cold Saturday

We woke this morning to 32 degrees at 8 AM.  So what do I  do?  I make a smoothie for breakfast.  I guess I didn't think it through, but I had found this great recipe for a smoothie that would taste similar to eggnog and I wanted to try it. I am not a huge fan of eggnog but it is nice in small tastes.

Take a banana and freeze it.  Blend that frozen banana, 8 ozs of almond milk (or whatever milk you use), 6 oz of yogurt, 1/8 tsp of nutmeg.  If you want it icier you can add a few ice cubes.  Blend.  Pour into a glass and add some sprinkles of nutmeg on top to make it look nice.

A very mild eggnog without the alcohol or eggs.  Nice!  I actually took pictures but forgot to check if the SD  card was in there.    It wasn't.  Take it from me, it looked pretty.

This morning, with our bodies full of energy and protein, I want to head to the gym and work out.  Then we will come home and finally
hang the Elephants of  Sri Lanka in my bedroom. I have all the hardware, it will be hung on a curtain rod behind my bed.  It is the only wall in the house that is large enough and  has nothing on it.   Pictures to come.

It is so cold outside.  Yes, I know we are not in an ice storm or under 30 inches of  snow.  But we have humidity.  If you want to be cold, don't go to Colorado, just come here.  Even the laptop heat, which usually feels miserable hot, is welcome.  All bassets are alternatively curled against me or running in wild circles like idiots.

And then...................I  will begin to tackle the mess that is my sewing room.  If I don't make it out of there, think of me fondly.....knowing I fought the good fight in the midst of the fabric I love the most.

  1. Be sure to oat a pic of the Ellie's hung - gorgeous quilt. I just found out about using command fridge clips for hanging quilts - she says she has used them for years, just slap on the wall and clip the quilt. Who knew? I'm gonna get done ASAP
