A Quilt Finish and How I Used My Pesto

i finished the binding on the Football quilt for Baby William.   Now I have to call his Grandma and set a time we can have dinner with them to pass the quilt along.  I tied the football all,up in the Monkey pillowcase!  They should love it!

But the BEST part of the day was the dinner I cooked.  It was amazing.  I marinated some Chicken in olive oil, garlic salt pepper oregano, Rosemary, parsley, thyme and Dijon mustard.  About 4 hours it sat.
Then I skewered them with a red bell pepper and a red onion.  Cooked on the BBQ grill.  Amazing!

But the bread was even better than that.  Get a loaf of crusty type bread.  Slice it (without going all the way through) down lengthwise and then crosswise to have one inch sections.  Take the pesto and smoosh it into the sections you cut.  I added some chopped black olives, I don't really like green olives but I think they would have been fine here.  And stuff it all in with some Italian cheeses -- I had a package of Italian Cheeses from Kraft i used.

Bake on aluminum foil wrapped pizza plate at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.

OMG!  I don't know what was better, the finish, the bread or the chicken!!!!

Nope, not a single picture of any of this!!  LOL

  1. The bread sounds divine! I've done it that way with just butter and garlic cloves. I'm looking for a bed update - did you get it? Is it great? Maybe that's why you are getting all this stuff done with such a good nights sleep?

  2. Your dinner last night sounds better than mine. I roasted some butternut squash. After it was done, I mashed it up a bit and that was dinner and breakfast this morning.
