it is in the 90’s here but it sure is beautiful. The city is laid out in a grid with 24, now 22, squares dedicated to green space. The houses surrounded the squares, all facing inward. In the old days, each square held a brick bread oven and water pumps for the community.
We toured the area on segways. The next day rode around on the Hop On/Hop Off Bus ( and never hopped off, I might add).
That afternoon we headed over to Hilton Head. The island is so beautiful. We met our friends at their resort condo. Tomorrow we will do some kayaking around the island and hopefully not get eaten by a gator!
Beautiful! You guys seem to be enjoying retirement. Hope you have fun for the rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are having a fun trip! I was in Savannah in the early 90's for work. Did get to do much site seeing as I was in meetings all day and since it started to get dark early - this was in October - we were told not to venture out at night unless you were in a group.
