Doesn't Seem Like Much.......

.......but I have been busy since 6:30 AM.

1.  Frank left early so I had dog breakfast duty.

2.  I went to the park and walked 2.5 miles.  It was actually cool!  So I kept going.  I had over 5000 steps by the end of the walk.  Whatever front that came and dropped 13 inches of rain on us in the last 4 days has now left and pushed out the humidity and cooled things off.  Of course, I can choose the paths that have significant amounts of shade, so it is a win/win/win for me.

Ever since Patty the Quilt Lady told me she hit 22,000 steps that has become something I want to do.  I can get 14K regularly, 16K on a good day, and 17-18K when we are on vacatiion.  Yesterday I had 12K but a migraine kicked in mid morning.  It wasn't until mid-afternoon that I took something for it.  And I could still feel it last night at 8 pm.  (Did you hear they are doing botox for migraines?  I might get botox paid for by the insurance????  How fantastic would that be?)

3.  Drove to the grocery - which doesn't sound like much but they are demolishing the intersection that I need to go anywhere through and it takes so long to get through there.  And they have demolished the only other way to get to this area as well.  Why would they wait for 30 years to do a project, then do two major ONLY thoroughfares at the same time?

4.  Grocery - for some reason, Frank can't drink the coconut milk or almond milk on his cereal.  And he and the dogs go through yogurt like there is no tomorrow.  I saw a brand new, fresh picked, huge bunch of beautiful kale that was calling my name.  And walked another 3/4 mile.

5.  Made kale chips (which taste surprisingly like potato chips, really), parboiled zucchini for Dino, fed the birds, took an ink pen away from McGee, played my word game and got the challenge for the 14th day in a row (I can make it for 33 days before it beats me), washed a load of clothes, stuffed them into the dryer, and now need to figure out what to have for lunch.

I am hoping to vacuum, well send the Roomba out to do a man's job, and work on another tree.

I really should do the Cotton Robin piece before it gets too far out of time.  It needs to be home by June 30th.

That is what I will work on.

Yes, Cotton Robin.

Yes.........

Modern Robin Exchange Box

Ok, got that one done to trade out this afternoon.  Sorry, can't show them to you ust yet.  give me another month or two.  I think they decided to do a two month period at the end to give everyone time to quilt a 2 foot x 2 foot square.  I only use the time to procrastinate.

I sent off two identical blocks, one to the Modern Robin and one to the Cotton Robin.  Now that things are coming to an end I can't wait to see what everyone is doing.    And how similar or different they will be.

The Cotton Robin Box came in yesterday as I was finishing up.  OMG!

It is drop dead gorgeous.

I want to keep this one forever.  It is so beautiful.  Can't show you that one either, but i better get working on it so I can do amazing things with it.

Friday Resolve

OK.  I have given up the quest for Gutterman thread.  Found a Quilting Forum post about it that made me think it was not really a quilting thread.  So I am over it.  Too bad, it was a good price.

Like I need more stuff.

I do need a nice orange thread through........

I lost my Cotton Robin block when Joni was here, but found it at 4 AM this morning when I woke up thinking where it was.  Now I am awake.  The block is so inspirational and wonderful and beautiful and amazing.  I am going to chance it and show it to you and hope the Robineers don't check it out.  But don't spread it around.  The original block was he heart.  Laurina added the flying geese corners.  And I did the paperpieced arrows.

I know that Kelly will be loving this one!

So today, I am going to try to make a dent in my sewing room.  I need to see if i can get some place, some bit of it cleaned up.....maybe a corner.  I was doing so well with the UFO Corner Clean Out.

Or maybe I should work on the living room.

Cotton Robin and Modern Robin

Neither of which I can show you, but if you are not involved in the process and really want to see my stellar work, I can email you some photos........

I worked at the Quilt Haus this morning and finished up the round on the Cotton Robin.

OMG!!!!!!!!

I am a creative genius!

I am the greatest row adder of all time!

It is an amazing piece that the owner will totally LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Yes, it is THAT amazing!

My friend Paula wanted it so badly!  I so wish I could show it to you.........you would love love love it too!

The squirrel, for whom a friend suggested the name "Spoutnik", seems to have recovered his sanity enough to go find his momma and their nest.

Life is good and a cruise if forthcoming!  Six friends, all ready to party down!

One is working as a comedian on the ship, so it should be interesting!

Cotton Robin Center Blocks Are Public!

Cotton Robin Center Blocks

Click to see the center blocks we will be working with this year.  They are exciting!

I have a second block like the one I sent in.  A couple of years ago, one of the other participants (Sophie) kept a block similar to the one she sent in and created a parallel hanging.  I might save mine for the Modern Robin.

Although I am not really sure that will happen anymore.

Sorry I can't show them to you!  LOL

We had some pretty good sized hail this afternoon.  Frank drove into the driveway and under the carport about 5 minutes before it started!  What luck!

If you look just past the fountain, you will see some green wire bundles laying there to keep the dogs out of that area, hoping to grow some grass.  Everyone steps off the patio and pees......all day long every day!  This makes them go futher and disperse a bit!

Maybe with the deluge it will clear out whatever is causing my allergies to flair!  I can only hope.

I just saw some photos of tornado damage not too far from the house here on Sherwood Forest Blvd.

I am trying to figure out how this will get me a dinner out....
