Monday Madness

I hope you had a chance to see the painting of DiNozzo.  (click there to see it)  My friend Julie has been working on it for the last year, I would say.  It is spectacular!  I am so impressed, it looks just like him!

So.  I hope you had a good Father's Day with your significant Father.

We celebrated with Carrie on Saturday, she spent the whole day with him.  Our lunch at Bass Pro Shops was good, until we hit Hobby Lobby and I spent some time in the very clean bathroom.  And when we got back to the house, Carrie spent time in our very clean bathroom.  The boys were fine.  The only thing Carrie and I had in common was the fish.  I had a salad but nibbled on a few pieces of the crumbly batter on her fish and chips plate.  There was nothing else that we had that at least Frank or Andrew had as well, but didn't get sick.

Meanwhile we enjoyed sitting in the back yard.  The  caladiums are amazing!  I bought them from some place like Happiness Farms or Rainbow Farms.  I could look it up if I had to, but whatever it was I am full of  Happiness at the Rainbow of colors!

And what did I tell you?  Carrie went into my sewing room and looked at the bunnies on the wall and was not impressed.  We shall see.  They may go to someone else anyway.

I am working with my renter to convince her she wants to make some extra cash by sewing my bindings down..........

I  am trying to convince her she can make millions doing the job.

Happy Father's Day To All The Dad's Who Live Among Fabric and Sewing Machines!

Frank started another round of gout last night.  So he is sitting on the sofa like a king.  It is quite painful to walk, so I have vacuumed and mopped and cleaned since 6:30  this morning.  Carrie and Andrew are coming for lunch.

He can prevent gout attacks by drinking a teaspoon of baking soda in a liquid once a day, but he only does it when he thinks he is getting sore.  I would do it every day......just sayin'

For Father's Day, the dogs gave him a t-shirt that reads "The Dogfather" so they have been taking turns sitting against him on the sofa, out of range of the broom and the real vacuum.  The Roomba is doing my bedroom.

I gave him a book (that McGee chewed the corners off on Wednesday) called Before The Pyramids by Christopher Knight.  He does the specials about Egypt and Egyptology on PBS.

I already hit 10,000 steps on my FitBit!  I did have to walk the Basset Boyz this morning as well, and will have to do the night walk by myself too

And this lasts for two weeks................

And yes, I  know.  He did take care of me when my knee was ripped out.

So let me go make some potato salad for the BBQ......

Happy Father's Day To all the Guys Out There

Carrie came over and we had lunch at Jones Creek Cafe, a really nice seafood restaurant/bar/patio/sports bar.  We sat in the Cafe side and were not involved in all the baseball
Father's Day Carrie's House
hype.  I am not a sports fan so that was perfectly fine with me.  Frank is not a huge sports fan, and that is perfectly fine with me too.

Then we went to Carrie and Andrew's house to meet up with his dad/mom and Uncle Paul/Aunt (I never remember that woman's name, it is very very Cajun).

And Andrew burned some boudin and andouille sausages and then cooked some really nice sirloins for everyone.

I always see the best skies on the way home from Carrie's house.  She lives in the far outreaches of the area and we live near the edge of the city.  So you have to go through some open country roads between us.  There are always great shots of setting suns.

This is what we saw hovering over the trees!

Ohhhhhhhh!

Happy Father's Day Weekend!

Yesterday we went to the Farmer's Market to score some tomatoes for a spaghetti sauce to die for!  My famous Spaghetti Sauce with pasta from Fresina's, Italian salad and pineapple homemade ice cream with fresh pineapple slices for dessert.

You can't ask for better than that!

These tomatoes sacrificed their skins for my sauce.  They, and the peppers, were picked on Thursday just for my pot!  You really cannot see how large these fellows are, Creoles!  I can't hold two of them in my hand, that is a measuring spoon on the chopping block with them.

Amber brought an amazing salad, and the pineapple ice cream didn't gel until after everyone had gone home, but it was all incredibly good!

And earlier in the day, Frank got the second best meal he loves, Magoo's Super Dog!  Cleaned the plate!

The dog's gave him funny cards that reflected their personalities.  Chloe's was a request to sleep on the couch with him, and DiNozzo's told him he was the best Pack Leader!  His Father's Day present from me was this Green Lantern shirt, just like Sheldon wears on the Big Bang Theory.  He loves it!  He is so much like Sheldon, amazing in itself.

I guess I love him in spite of himself.

I know a lot of wonderful men who have been incredible fathers to their children and their step-children.  Such an under represented group, so many kids are not as lucky as this group of children to grow up with a father in the house, involved with them every day, and the love from a solid family.  So Happy Father's Day to all the great fathers I know, Michael, Press, Dan, Xavier, Bobby, Frank, Glen, Gary.......you know who you are!
