I Might Just Sleep on a Bed Tonight!

I called the mattress guy on Friday to see if they had gotten the bed base and could deliver on Saturday.  Nope, base still has not come in.

I calmly asked him to transfer me to a supervisor.  Not the store manager, but the next up supervisor.  I wanted to cancel my order with the supervisor.  He assured me that he could call me back shortly and have a number for me.

Five minutes later, on the phone he tells me they can deliver the mattresses on Saturday and when the base comes in during the week, they would come out and deliver and assemble everything.

Yes!  Around 10 AM this morning I will at least have a MATTRESS!  Yea! 

I am going to work on the Lorax for a bit while I wait.  And the Banned Book Challenge.  I keep changing what I want do.  There are so many good ones!  I want to be a real radical!

We went to the Farmer's Market and scored some beautiful tomatoes.  I am sending some to Fayne......don't let Carrie forget to give them to you!  No, really, they are very friendly!

Party Goin' On 'Round Here

Dinner party at the house tonight, so I will be cooking most of the day.  And finishing up the cleaning I have left, like the last minute things.

Did you know that the seagoing Neapolitan invented Marinara Sauce?  The Spanish had introduced tomatoes into the Mediterranean area.  The high acid content of the sauce made it ideal to take on a lengthy sea voyage.

The Spanish had found it in South America and Mexico but back then it was a small yellow fruit similar to our cherry tomatoes today.  The poor taste and lack of sugar in the tomatoes today are blamed on the cross breeding to make the fruit red and attractive.

I sometimes buy the yellow tomatoes from the Farmer's Market and they do seem to be sweeter but they are meatier as well.

oh oh...........two days in a row - Basset Reduction Impending

The two that were ripe on the only tomato plant I have.  I was going to pick today for lunch.

Next sign will be:  Cute Basset For Sale.............Loves tomatoes and Cat Litter

At least I am happy with the stash reduction report.  Maybe I should offer fabric as an incentive for Basset Reduction.  Stash reduction report for the last two weeks is as follows:
