You Are Not going To Believe This!!!!!

Guess what I got?  It came at 8:30 PM last night.  And the guys said they were not  going home until I got my bed! 

I Might Just Sleep on a Bed Tonight!

I called the mattress guy on Friday to see if they had gotten the bed base and could deliver on Saturday.  Nope, base still has not come in.

I calmly asked him to transfer me to a supervisor.  Not the store manager, but the next up supervisor.  I wanted to cancel my order with the supervisor.  He assured me that he could call me back shortly and have a number for me.

Five minutes later, on the phone he tells me they can deliver the mattresses on Saturday and when the base comes in during the week, they would come out and deliver and assemble everything.

Yes!  Around 10 AM this morning I will at least have a MATTRESS!  Yea! 

I am going to work on the Lorax for a bit while I wait.  And the Banned Book Challenge.  I keep changing what I want do.  There are so many good ones!  I want to be a real radical!

We went to the Farmer's Market and scored some beautiful tomatoes.  I am sending some to Fayne......don't let Carrie forget to give them to you!  No, really, they are very friendly!

The Bed!

Oh!  The bed!  Amazing!  Haven't you been curious if I have vibrated myself into oblivion yet?  LOL

Well not yet.  I got a call Friday about 6:30 pm from the mattress place and they said due to having more orders then available production from the factory,  they were unable to get my mattress in for the scheduled Saturday delivery.  They suggested we set the next date for Thursday but it could come in for a Tuesday delivery.

I was not a happy camper.  I said go for Tuesday and change if necessary!!

This is what we are sleeping on since dismantling the bed, sending the mattress to Matt and putting the box spring out on the carport!

We got the box spring back inside an added the tent pads, 8 quilts on each side


and the sleeping bag all piled up to try to make it comfortable.  All I can say is, it is not the floor!  It is bad that your bed is lower than the Basset hounds!!!

Yes, I could cancel the bed and buy from another company, but the it would be another two week wait......geez!

 But the Ellies quilt shows off well!

Oh! What a Weekend - Good Vibrations and Blood

I am so glad everyone loved my story about my grandfather.  As I told many of you, I miss my grandparents a lot.  Ganny died when I was in 4th grade and Papa lived until 1986.  He was able to  meet Carrie once when she  was a wee baby.  He had Alzheimers by then and was living  in Houston with the mistress he had all through my mother's childhood.  After he heard she was born, he told Ann  he was going to the grocery and drove all the way to New Orleans to see her.

Frank volunteered to drive him back to Houston.  Frank drove, put gas in the car and paid for meals.  And bought a plane ticket to fly home.  When they got home my grandfather called my mother and told her about the ungrateful hitchhiker he had picked up who didn't even offer to pay for gas!

Frank said that his reward was a clear cloudless night sky at 30,000 feet.  He still talks about the night he had such a spectacular view of the stars.

This weekend and closer to the ground, Frank was on a mission to make me build myself up through the miracle of walking!  We walked several bedding stores AND the mall.  the  bedding stores were to test out mattresses and the mall was to buy new sheets for the new mattresses.

We ended  up spending Carrie's inheritance on a Temper-pedic memory foam gel with a frame that raises and lowers both feet and head.  AND it  vibrates!  I thought that  was only in sleazy hotels!!!  When the salesman turned on the vibrations I was in love!  (With the mattress, not the sales guy!  That would have been the sleazy hotel part!!  LOL)

It comes in two weeks.  Just enough time to let me order some sheets.  The bed is a split king so the sheets need to be Twin XL.  Which are all sold out of every store in town because it is what the dorm room beds are!!!  Who knew this was a bad weekend to buy a Split King Bed????

While at the mattress store, Frank innocently sits on a futon and slices his finger open.  H was nearly spurting blood in seconds.  It caused uite a stir, as  you can imagne.
