Got the blocks all together. The blocks are 6 1/2 inches and the sashing is 2 1/2 so at 7 x 7 I used 49 of the 50 blocks.
Final dimensions are 58 x 58. Square....harumph.
Actually I miscounted and had two left over. No matter what I used all but about 11 blocks.
9 were more pink than anything so I can use them in a baby quilt for Carrie's friends.
If anyone ever has a girl!
I will look for a back over the weekend and get it on the long arm frame!
Good to clear out that space! I think it looks cool!

Lorax - the Completed Top
I love it!
how much i need to add to get the both done with the same backing fabric.
She sent me the Dr Seuss fabric that has the words he used from a number of his books.
When Tory first started talking about the quilt I bought some Dr Seuss prints to make two pillows for them, good thing I thought of two pillowcases that far back! Tory's mother loves SpongeBob SquarePants so I bought some of that as well. More pillowcases!
I have to admit, I like SpongeBob myself!

Cheddar Top Is Finished
Frank was watching the LSU play. He says they have fairy dust that whoever is their coach throws on them in the halftime talk. You can tell I am not a sports fan, I can't think of the coach's name.
I was putting the finishing touches on the Cheddar quilt.
I finished sewing the rows together this afternoon. After a visit to Carrabas and CC's for coffee, I
added a red inner border. Then the final border.
And I am really impressed with myself for not having to rip out any blocks to make sure they were all going the same way! I think that is a first as well.
I had to get Frank to hold it for the picture because it is too large for the design wall. I can get it up there but it hides behind part of the table. The cutting table that is pile high with junk and fabric!!!!
Oh well, I just have to keep quilting!!!
I think tomorrow I will work on Carrie's quilt that is on the frame. I put one of the baby quilts on the frame because she wanted to play around with a lot of patterns and develop some skills. But since before my surgery 9 weeks ago she has not touched it.
It wants to be quilted so I will oblige!!!!!

Top Complete - Now We Need A Name
vacuuming the house I settled into the sewing room with my trusty Quilt Dog DiNozzo.
.
The pattern is called Autumn Colors and was designed by Cynthia Regone of Cajun Classic Quilts. She has papers that make the triangles easy and uniform. It really speeds the process.
My total fabric usage for this quilt top is:
18+18 Fat Quarters = 9 yards
3/4 yards inner border
2 yards for outer border and triangles
Size is 71 x 63 so it is a large quilt.
Still need the backing and the binding and it needs to be quilted. But I can do that this weekend maybe. It needs to be complete by the March meeting of Remember Me so I have a lot of time. But I am looking forward to having it as my OPAM finish for February!
I am auditioning things like:
Searching for the Utopian Forest
the Nightingale Sings in Berkeley Square
Sitting Up Waiting For You
What things can you come up with? Give it a try
