Exciting night

Last night was exciting because it was our Modern Quilt Guild meeting and I got to see all my besties!

But Tonight was exciting because McGee is such an idiot.  He got hold of one of Frank's syringes and we found the packaging and the body of the syringe but not the needle.  While I was panicking, Frank was tearing the dog beds apart.  He found it in one of the beds in our room, where we have the baby gate and he is not supposed to be in there........just sayin'

So McGee lives to tell tales another day.

From last night's meeting.

Tracy is such a color wizard!

This is the funniest pumpkin I ever saw!  The classes got to create their own pumpkin displays for the school.  I have no idea if this won, but it should have!

Crissi gave is a presentation on Containing Your Scraps and Cleaning Up Your Room  I got some great ideas.

Lori always has great ideas.....just sayin'

This is Brigitta from Germany, she is really a member of  our group all the way in Germany.  Now we have two German members, one in country and one out of country!  That's amazing.

Hanging a 6 Woman Fiber Art Show

Frank kept telling me I was getting worse, not better.  So he called and got me an appt at our doctor.   I drug my illness wracked body to the car.  I was coughing my fool head off, and struggling to breathe.  Frank looked normal.

When Doc Lee came in and examined me, he looked at Frank and asked if he was having symptoms as well.  Frank says, Why, Yes.

The doctor listened to his lungs, decided on shots and pills for us.  I was coughing and trying to breathe the whole time.  He left only to return a few mutes later, and once again listened to Frank's chest.

He even said, I am really concerned about you, Frank, and asked the PA to take his temperature once again.  No temp, once again.

He leaves....again.   And returns again......Yep, to listen to Frank's chest.

Hey, I am the one that is so sick here!  Frank will do anything to upstage me.  Right?

We both got shots, but I got a steroid shot and antibiotic pills, and Frank got antibiotic shot and steroid pills.  Go figure.

I guess this worked because we were much better this morning when we were at Denham Springs to hang what I have been calling the 8x8 Show because we each had an 8x8 panel space.

Afterwards we all went to eat at Randazzo's where I knocked over my extra large Dr. Pepper-no-ice  dousing Tracy's salad, her lap and all over Judy.

Here is Frank putting up my Big Oil.  You can catch a glimpse of my Crow Morning Barn, the Matisse Lady Michaela, 3613 (my house)  the Sun, and the Spring Forest Modern Robin tree.

Here is Bebe telling us the best place to put each piece.

Thanks to Tracy, I am vindicated

I now have a good excuse for keeping every tiny bit of fabric.  I no longer have to throw out even the tiniest scrap because my friend showed me to way to perfect Nirvana!

Well, she showed us her technique for using scraps for art pieces like Danny Amazonas in a class through the Sassi Stripper Guild on Saturday.

Danny was one of the artists featured in the European Patchwork Festival from which we recently returned.  Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!  He is out of Taiwan and I have seen him in several Quilt Art magazines lately.

He was pretty cute too! LOL.  But it was his work that stole my heart and brain!

I had to leave the class at the halfway point so I didn’t get to finish my piece.  I had promised Sawyer
to take him to the Corn Maze at the Burden Plantation in Baton Rouge.  It is now an agricultural research station with LSU and a living history and Rural Life Museum.  The grounds are beautifully landscaped and had various crops and trails and a collection of old wooden buildings and southern style event places.

I hope to exhibit something there this spring in the Brush With Burden Show.

Here is Danny and then there is me.  I am still working on it, mind you.

I am sure you prefer Danny, it’s OK! You can say that!
